01 · The invitation
The world has been asked one question. Now it’s your turn.
Should every person on Earth, and every child yet to be born, be assured at least one nutritious meal every day?
This question has been put to the governments of 188 nations, to universities around the world, to the world’s major faith traditions and people of no religious belief, and to organisations already working to feed people.
The future belongs to you. You don’t need permission, a degree, a title or a finished solution. One question, one observation or one better idea is enough.
02 · Your contribution
One thought is enough.
- Read the question.
- Share one thought.
- Help shape what follows.
Ideas that meet the publishing rules appear on the open record once approved. Read ideas shared so far.
03 · The global invitation
Invitations are going out in stages.
- 213 universities contacted so far
- 199 invitations delivered
- 287 universities on the published list
- 194 countries
Everyone is welcome. No invitation is required. See the public invitation record and how we invite.
04 · The work ahead
Where we stand.
- What we know
- Much is already known about how to reduce hunger. We are not starting from zero: the aim is to bring existing food-security knowledge together, not replace it. See how this fits with existing efforts.
- Ideas open to challenge
- The proposal and its papers, including the Meal Standard, are one possible approach, not a finished plan. Read the papers.
- Unanswered questions
- Funding. Delivery. Accountability. Governance. These are open, and they are where your thinking matters most. See the open questions.
One nutritious meal is a minimum assurance, not a limit on what anyone needs or should receive.
05 · The future
Help shape it. Help lead it.
Where this leads is not yet decided. Young people are invited to help shape it and, in time, to lead it. You may improve it, remake it or replace it with something better.
