About the Perth Agreement
Hi world,
The Perth Agreement is a simple but powerful idea:
That every person alive today — and every child yet to be born — should know they will have at least one meal every day.
I am planting the seeds of an idea.
Once, or if, this idea begins to grow, it will belong to those who inherit it — the future generations.
At its heart, the Perth Agreement recognises a basic human right: the guarantee of one nutritious meal every day, regardless of where you live or who you are.
It is not charity. It is dignity.
The Perth Agreement is not intended to be a finished answer.
It is a starting point.
Its purpose is to encourage discussion, research, examination, challenge, improvement, and participation.
No single person, organisation, nation, or generation owns its future.
If it is to succeed, it must reflect a collective perspective of humanity.
Do we want this?
One possible pathway forward — and I offer only a possible starting point — is to bring together representatives from major faiths, truth-seeking traditions, universities, governments, communities, and future generations to examine and develop the framework further.
My hope is that Aboriginal Elders may one day host an initial signing in Perth, where the conversation may formally begin.
The world's oldest continuing culture hosting a declaration of intent for cooperation among some of the world's best thinkers, leaders, and future generations.
How the framework evolves from that point should ultimately be determined by those who inherit it.
Each participating faith and truth-seeking tradition may be invited to nominate two young representatives to help guide the early development of the Perth Agreement.
However, my hope is that any future council that emerges will ultimately make its own decisions and determine its own future.
Should such a council emerge, its representatives would ideally remain under the age of 25, ensuring the next generation has a direct voice in shaping the future it will inherit.
They may make decisions together and, where needed, draw on the best global thinkers and leaders to guide the Agreement toward its strongest possible outcome.
This is not a finished plan.
It is an invitation.
And this is simply my suggested starting point.
If this idea speaks to you — whether through curiosity or conviction — you are already part of it.
Transparency as a Core Principle
The Perth Agreement is intended to be built on openness and accountability.
Every transaction, structural decision, and major communication should be auditable and transparent.
Nothing should be done in the shadows.
Ultimately, it is the generation, here and now, that will determine whether projects such as this "moonshot" are worthy of discussion, development, and support.
Your call.
